Shozy V33: Unboxing

Introduction

An interesting entry from Shozy: a small form factor, budget DD IEM that seems almost like a homage to their Zero.

Non-audio opinions

My unboxing posts are pretty much the only times I’ll ever talk about build quality, accessories and the like. I’m not really the person to ask about these things as I don’t really care about them that much.

Accessories: eartips. That’s it.

Cable: single wire cable. Rubbery feel.

Connection: non-detachable.

Build: pseudo-bullet shape similar to that of the A&K T8iE and Xelento, but taller. Metal shell so the IEM itself shouldn’t break under stress at least. The biggest weak point of the V33 is obviously where the cable exits the shell.

Fit: it can get deep depending on the size of your ears. Pretty comfortable for mine.

Initial impresions

Oh man there’s no sugarcoating it: the V33 is bad. I don’t even need bullet points for this; the midrange tonality is wrong, there’s an odd sharpness in the treble and there’s barely any bass extension to speak of. Open and shut case here.
