Introduction
BGVP is a company that needs no elaborate introduction these days; their highly popular DMG and DM6 models have been at the forefront of the chifi world just a few months ago. Despite waning interest in recent times, it seems that they have not stopped trying to recapture their fleeting moments of superstardom.
The DMS seems to be their rendition of a “DMG+”, relinquishing the tuning filter system and one of its dynamic drivers for two more balanced armatures.

NON-AUDIO OPINIONS
My unboxing posts are pretty much the only times I’ll ever talk about build quality, accessories and the like. I’m not really the person to ask about these things as I don’t really care about them that much.
Accessories: tips and cable.
Cable: single wire, rubbery sheathing. I still prefer the DMG cable.
Connection: MMCX. Doesn’t feel very sturdy or secure in my hands, only time will tell if it holds up.
Build: Metal build, the faceplate seam may be a potential weak point. Otherwise, seems like it can hold up to some abuse.
Fit: pretty good fit and comfort. Stays relatively secure.
Isolation: not very good. Will not use outdoors.
INITIAL IMPRESSIONS
- IT NEEDS MORE TREBLE. Especially considering its slightly bass forward tuning; the tonal balance is simply thrown too far into one direction.
- Average to below average technicalities. Notes aren’t very clean or defined.
- It’s a decent laid-back and bassy tuning, though the asking price is a little too painful to swallow. In most respects, I would still pick the DMG.
